We're all looking ways to boost our immunity now more than ever. Did you know that when you do any exercise, it helps to send disease-fighting cells around your body?  By creating a fun and doable walking routine, you can reduce seasonal ailments like colds and flu.

Regular walking can even play an important role in the prevention of more serious conditions. Researchers in Britain concluded that 30 minutes a day/5 days a week can help reduce inflammation associated with the formation of heart disease.

According to a study cited by Harvard Medical School involving 1,000 people - both men and women, those who walked at least 20 minutes a day/5 days or more a week, had 43% fewer sick days than those exercising one time a week or less. If they did get sick, it was for a shorter period of time and with milder symptoms.

Get Going!
If you struggle with staying consistent in your exercise routine, I'd highly recommend starting a walking program because it is one of the most versatile ways to get your workout in.

Choices, Choices
When it comes to walking, there are a lot of options. Treadmills. Indoor or outdoor tracks. Neighborhood  walking. Walking, jogging or hiking in a local park. Even fitness dvd's, audio walking programs or routines on You Tube.  With all those choices, you have more control over your workout and it won't seem like a chore if you focus in on the one or two you like best.

When you actually enjoy exercise,  you're a lot more likely to get results because you'll stay consistent. And that'll keep you lacing up those walking shoes and hitting the treadmill, track or trail.

Is walking a part of your exercise regime?
